Become a Volunteer

Volunteers raised and moved St. Marks Lutheran church to its new home on the museum grounds then lovingly restored it to its original condition, built the handicap ramp to the front doors and erected our working windmill. Volunteers are the life blood and the backbone of Baldwin County Heritage Museum. We welcome your participation and look forward to the time you share with us.

Every major step in the evolution of Baldwin County Heritage Museum (BCHM) has been directed and carried out by volunteers and they are its life blood...

We cannot fully express our gratitude for all you have done to assist the BCHM .  Your influence and hard work have had  a major impact on the entire county over the years. You are directly responsible for most of the major changes that have and are taking place at the museum. You are the encouragement that keeps us moving forward and will always be welcomed.

This little museum lives by the efforts of the hands on, daily volunteers. You are our strength.  We are confident  that with your effort, example and time, we will continue to grow this season and many more forward.  

When you remember that this county is larger than the state of Rhode Island and yet, even with our winter guests, does not exceed 250,000 in overall population. That is a lot of land to be covered by a limited number of volunteers, and we feel privileged that you have chosen us as your home.

Become A Part of the Story

The Baldwin County Heritage Museum welcomes donations to its various collections. Of primary importance and consideration are the artifacts, photographs or archival documents dealing with some aspect of Baldwin County history. Our focus is on the time period between 1845 and 1945. If you are considering a donation, please remember that nearly every item has a historical importance. Everyday objects, such as pens with business advertising or a well-used tool or overalls, make wonderful additions to our collections because of the stories they tell.
